Pavilions & covered patios
A roof over the patio changes how much you actually use your yard. Built right, it looks like it came with the house.
We build freestanding pavilions and attached covered patios with full structural roof framing — not kit lumber. That means engineered footings, posts sized for the span, stained beam work, and a ceiling finished in cedar or pine tongue-and-groove instead of exposed sheathing.
Shingles are matched to your existing roof, ceiling fans and recessed lighting get wired during framing rather than surface-mounted later, and gutters tie into your existing drainage so you are not creating a new water problem in the back yard.
- Engineered footings & posts
- Cedar or pine T&G ceiling
- Stained beam & bracket work
- Matched architectural shingles
- Recessed cans & fan boxes
- Gutter & drainage tie-in

Outdoor kitchens & stone fireplaces
Grill, sink, fridge, fireplace and a TV that survives a Carolina summer — planned as one build instead of four projects.
Masonry outdoor kitchens are mostly a rough-in job wearing a stone jacket. The gas line, water supply, drain, dedicated circuits and TV conduit all have to land in the right place before the block goes up, which is why kitchens added after the fact cost so much more.
We build the base, veneer it in stone or brick to match your home, set granite or stone countertops, install your grill, sink, refrigeration and vent, and build the fireplace — wood-burning or gas — with a chimney sized for the space.
- Block base & stone veneer
- Granite or stone countertops
- Built-in grill, sink & fridge
- Wood or gas fireplace
- Weather-rated TV mount & conduit
- Gas, water & electrical rough-in

Decks, porches & screened rooms
The parts that fail first are the parts you cannot see. We build those parts right.
Pressure-treated southern yellow pine or composite — we will price both. Either way the ledger gets flashed properly against the house, joists get hung with the correct hardware, and stairs get cut stringers with even risers instead of stacked blocks.
Railings are built to North Carolina code height and spacing so your deck passes inspection and stays safe with kids on it. Want it screened? We can frame it for screen or glass from the start rather than retrofitting later.
- Flashed ledger attachment
- PT pine or composite decking
- Cut stringers, even risers
- Code-height railing systems
- Screened & three-season options
- Under-deck drainage available

Additions, remodeling & custom carpentry
New work that disappears into the old work. That is the whole job.
Room additions, rear entries and mudrooms, roof tie-ins, siding and trim repair, interior remodels and custom carpentry. We pull permits, schedule inspections and build to code so the square footage counts when you sell.
Matching an existing roofline, siding profile and trim detail is where most additions go wrong. We take the time to get the pitch, overhang and reveal right so it does not look like something got stuck on the back of your house.
- Permits pulled & inspections scheduled
- Roof tie-in & matched pitch
- Framing & structural work
- Siding, soffit & trim matching
- Interior finish carpentry
- Repair & storm damage work

Service questions
Before you call, you are probably wondering…
Straight answers, no runaround. If your question is not here, call and ask.
Both. Pressure-treated southern yellow pine is the budget-friendly workhorse and holds up well in eastern NC if it is sealed and maintained. Composite costs more up front and gives you a deck you basically wash instead of stain. We will price both so you can decide with real numbers instead of a sales pitch.
Usually, yes — that is a roof tie-in, and it is one of the most common things we do. It has to be flashed and framed correctly or it will leak, which is exactly why it is not a DIY job. We will look at your existing roof pitch and structure and tell you honestly whether attached or freestanding is the better build for your house.
We coordinate the licensed electrical and plumbing rough-in as part of the build, so power for the grill, refrigerator, TV, fans and lighting, and water and drain lines for a sink, are all in place before the masonry goes up. Running that after the fact costs far more.
Permitted, well-built outdoor living space is one of the better returns on a home improvement dollar in this market, and it shows up on an appraisal when it is permitted and built to code. Unpermitted work generally does not. That is a large part of why we pull permits on every job that requires one.
Call or text (252) 229-9542, or send the form on our contact page with a couple of photos of the space. We will set a time to walk the site, talk through what you want, and get you a written estimate. No charge and no obligation.
